Shehzada’s extensive experience includes:
● Dispute Resolution & Arbitration:
○ Telecom Arbitration Excellence in Tanzania (2013) (Client: KMJ
Telecommunications): As Project Lead, he played a key role in a specific telecomrelated arbitration case by providing legal representation and conducting in-depth contractual analysis while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Successfully secured a favourable settlement of just over TZS 10bn.
○ TESCL-Standard Chartered Bank ICSID Arbitration Advocacy (2017-2021)
(Client: Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TESCL)): As Project Lead,
he provided legal expertise in an international arbitration dispute at ICSID,
significantly strengthening TESCL’s position and prompting the Government of
Tanzania to reconsider its stance.

● Corporate & Investment Law:
○ Establishment of Givorah Recycling Limited (2023): As Project Lead, he
conducted comprehensive legal due diligence, established the corporate entity in
Zanzibar, drafted tailored shareholder agreements, and successfully registered the
Project with the Zanzibar Investments Promotion Authority (ZIPA).
○ Gold Valley Mining Incorporation and Compliance Project (2022 to date): As
Project Lead and Company Secretary, he collaborated on the development of a
comprehensive business proposal for river mining operations, secured essential
mining rights and permits, and maintained vigilant legal and regulatory compliance.
○ Setting up of DNATA Zanzibar Aviation Service Company Limited (2022 to
date) in Zanzibar (Client: DNATA): As Co-Advisor to the Project Lead, he assisted
in setting up DNATA, a Dubai-based company, for ground handling services at Abeid
Aman Karume International Airport in Zanzibar. This involved establishing the
corporate entity, drafting shareholder agreements, and successfully registering the
project with ZIPA, acting as company secretary and retained legal advisers.

● Data Protection & Regulatory Compliance:
○ Imatic Technologies Limited: Undertook a comprehensive Data Protection scope
of service, assessing existing measures, identifying vulnerabilities, and crafting
tailored data protection strategies for legal compliance and risk mitigation.
○ Reviewing and drafting of Jubilee Insurance Contracts in relation to Data
Protection: Conducted a comprehensive review of contracts related to data
protection, ensuring compliance with pertinent regulations and laws.

CREDENTIALS
 Education: Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB), Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College
(2007); Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Law School of Tanzania (2009);
Accredited Mediator, Centre For Effective Dispute Resolution (2014).
● Professional Qualifications: Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania
(2009); Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Zanzibar.
● Memberships & Affiliations: Tanganyika Law Society; Zanzibar Law Society; The East
African Law Society; Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIA). Chairman of Conscious For
Humanity (Utu Kwanza), an NGO he founded. An accredited Mediator and serves on the
board of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims Community. Served as Vice President of the
Zanzibar Law Society. Served 2 terms as the Chairperson on the Young Lawyers
Professional Development Committee at the Tanganyika Law Society. Currently serves
as the Vice Chairperson of the Regional Trade & Integration Committee of the East Africa
Law Society. Member of the Advocates Welfare, Remuneration and Awards Committee
