Reports to the Department Head/Managing Partner.  
JOB SUMMARY
This role involves providing comprehensive legal support, including conducting thorough research, drafting legal documents, and assisting in case strategy. The candidate will work closely with senior attorneys, communicate with clients, and represent clients in various legal proceedings under supervision. Responsibilities also include managing client files, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct legal research and analyze documents to support case preparation.
Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
Communicate with clients, provide updates, and manage client relationships.
Assist in developing legal strategies.
Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as directed.
Provide legal opinions, advice, and counsel to clients.
Participate in negotiations and work towards favorable settlements.
Ensure compliance with laws, maintain client confidentiality, and uphold ethical standards.
Stay informed about legal developments and engage in ongoing professional development.
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
CRITERIA
Post graduate degree in law. A master’s degree (LLM) will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal practice
Licensed to practice law in Tanzania
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
TASKS
Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
Assist in managing client relationships and addressing client concerns.
Assist in managing and organizing client files and documents.
Work closely with senior attorneys to develop strategies.
Upon instructions by a Partner attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
Represent clients under the supervision of senior attorneys.
Analyze legal issues and provide legal opinions to senior attorneys.
Upon instructions by Partner assist in the development of legal strategies for cases.
Conduct due diligence investigations in support of transactions.
Identify and assess legal risks and issues.
Provide legal advice and counsel to clients within the scope of the law.
Assist clients in understanding their legal rights and options.
Prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and other written documents.
Present legal arguments and analysis clearly and concisely.
Participate in negotiations on behalf of clients.
Upon instructions by Partner work with senior attorneys to reach favorable settlements.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Stay informed about changes in the legal landscape affecting the practice area.
Engage in ongoing professional development, including attending legal seminars and training.
Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff on case-related tasks.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Uphold ethical standards in all aspects of legal practice.
Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct rules.
Update clients within 24 hours and on a weekly basis.
