OVERVIEW |
We are looking for an Associate Trainee who is an advocate with at least 2 years of experience in their field. This role involves supporting our legal team with research, document preparation, and administrative tasks, while gaining practical experience in legal practices. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
Conduct legal research and summarize information for attorneys. Review, draft, and proofread legal documents. Organize and manage case files and legal correspondence. Assist with administrative tasks, including filing documents and scheduling. Shadow attorneys, attend client meetings, and court appearances. Participate in team meetings, networking events, and training sessions. Maintain confidentiality and provide regular updates to the Department Head and Associate. |
CRITERIA |
Post Graduate Degree in Law. Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal practice Licensed to practice law in Tanzania Strong analytical and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively. |
TASKS |
Conduct legal research on specific topics relevant to ongoing cases or firm practice areas. Compile and summarize information for use by attorneys. Assist in reviewing legal documents, contracts, and other materials. Organize and index documents for easy reference. Assist in drafting legal documents, such as memos, letters, and simple contracts. Proofread and edit documents prepared by attorneys. Aid in the organization and management of case files. Assist with administrative tasks related to case preparation. Help prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies. Shadow attorneys during client meetings and court appearances. Assist in maintaining positive client relations. Provide general administrative support, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing emails. Assist with the preparation of legal correspondence. Attend court proceedings, client meetings, and firm events to observe legal professionals in action. Develop legal writing skills by preparing briefs, summaries, or legal analyses. Receive feedback from supervising attorneys to improve writing abilities. Collaborate with legal teams and support staff on various tasks. Participate in team meetings and discussions. Attend networking events organized by the law firm. Build relationships with legal professionals within the firm. Attend training sessions or workshops offered by the firm. Adhere to confidentiality requirements in handling sensitive information. Update the Department Head and Associate every 12 hours and on a weekly basis. |
