Reports to the Department Head/ Managing Partner.  
JOB SUMMARY
The role involves supporting legal cases through comprehensive research, drafting documents, and managing client interactions. The candidate will work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies, represent clients in legal proceedings, and provide legal advice. The position requires collaboration with the legal team, maintaining client confidentiality, and staying updated on legal developments.  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct legal research and analyze documents.
Draft and review legal documents.
Communicate with clients and manage relationships.
Organize and manage case files.
Assist in developing case strategies with senior attorneys.
Attend court proceedings and represent clients under supervision.
Provide legal advice and counsel.
Conduct due diligence and assess legal risks.
Prepare briefs, memoranda, and other documents.
Participate in negotiations and settlement efforts.
Assist with discovery and ensure compliance with laws.
Collaborate with the legal team and engage in professional development.
CRITERIA
Post graduate degree in law. A master’s degree (LLM) will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal practice
Licensed to practice law in Tanzania /Zanzibar.
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
TASKS
Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and contracts.
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
Assist in managing client relationships and addressing client concerns.
Assist in managing and organizing case files and documents.
Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
Attend court hearings, mediation, and other legal proceedings.
Represent clients in court under the supervision of senior attorneys.
Analyze legal issues and provide legal opinions to senior attorneys.
Assist in the development of legal strategies for cases.
Conduct due diligence investigations in support of transactions or litigation.
Identify and assess legal risks and issues.
Provide legal advice and counsel to clients within the scope of the law.
Assist clients in understanding their legal rights and options.
Prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and other written documents.
Present legal arguments and analysis clearly and concisely.
Participate in negotiations on behalf of clients.
Work with senior attorneys to reach favorable settlements.
Assist in the discovery process, including document production and responses to discovery requests.
Collaborate with the legal team in preparing for hearing.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Stay informed about changes in the legal landscape affecting the practice area.
Engage in ongoing professional development, including attending legal seminars and training.
Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff on case-related tasks.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Uphold ethical standards in all aspects of legal practice.
Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct rules.
Update clients within 24 hours and on a weekly basis.
