Tanzania Invest in a Promotion Roadshow in China
The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), in collaboration with Yingke Law Firm and industry representatives, has initiated an investment promotion roadshow in China, marking a strategic push to attract international investments. The roadshow’s inaugural event in Guangzhou on January 12, 2024, set the stage for a series of engagements aimed at promoting investment opportunities in Tanzania.
With a significant meeting at the consulate office in Guangzhou, key stakeholders, including H.E. Khamis Mussa Omar, Ambassador of Tanzania to China, and Consulate General Khatibu Makenga, met with partners from Yingke Law Firm. This meeting paved the way for detailed discussions on the event’s objectives and strategic plans for promoting investment opportunities in Tanzania.
The delegation’s visit to MEDIPARK in the Baoshan District provided valuable insights into potential sectors for investment. Engagements with pharmaceutical companies such as Gem Pharmatech, Cheerland Biotechnology, and Medipark Lab highlighted promising investment prospects.
The success of the Guangzhou event was evident as it drew the interest of over 50 potential investors. These interactions provided clarity on investment processes in Tanzania and opened doors for future collaborations. With a target to attract USD 3 billion worth of investment from China annually by the end of 2025, the roadshow signifies a significant step toward fostering stronger economic ties between Tanzania and China.
As the roadshow progresses, the Tanzania Investment Centre anticipates building on the momentum generated in Guangzhou, further enhancing Tanzania’s appeal as an investment destination.
